Amidst one of the harshest droughts in 100 years affecting wine grape production, as well as ongoing profitability pressures, the South African wine industry now more than ever feels the urgency to adapt on all fronts. Not only to maintain a sustainable source of income, but to be able to nurture and grow its two biggest assets – its people and its vines.
World renowned poet, dancer, producer, director and author, Maya Angelou, coined the phrase: “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” This year’s WineLand Adams & Adams seminar will put Angelou’s sentiments under the microscope. Simple, yet powerful, Angelou’s much-quoted saying is a valuable mantra in both life and business. How do we do away with complacency and rise up to every challenge? How do we better our businesses? How does the South African wine industry become better than the best? With an ever changing agricultural, economic and political landscape how do we adapt and change our businesses today by knowing better and then doing better to nurture our people and vines.
